Does a swimming pond or natural pool need a permit at all?
In NRW, swimming pools up to 100 m³ of basin volume usually need no building permit (§ 62 (1) BauO NRW) — in outlying areas only as an ancillary facility of a building with habitable rooms no more than 50 m away. Permit-free does not mean rule-free: development plan, setback rules and water-law requirements (groundwater proximity, water protection zones, filling and emptying) still apply; from around 100 m³ or in special locations a permit requirement is to be expected. Whether your client's project is affected is what we clarify on the basis of municipality and property.
Will my client find out that the design comes from outside?
That is your decision. In the background model you run the project and the client communication; the design itself names the responsible engineer — professional regulations require it. You can also introduce us visibly: a registered specialist on the team is a selling point towards client and authority.
Who carries the responsibility for the sizing?
We do. The design is an insured engineering service — signed off under professional responsibility by Alvaro Burgos Cifuentes, M.Sc., registered member of the Ingenieurkammer-Bau NRW (Chamber of Construction Engineers, No. 754661), with professional liability insurance for the planning services. The execution remains your trade — the sizing behind it is ours.
What does the design cost?
Concepts for swimming ponds and natural pools from €1,200, full planning from €6,000, constructed-wetland planning from €1,500, infiltration verifications from €700, the plausibility check of an existing verification €600 — each plus statutory VAT, as a fixed price. Promptly after the initial consultation you receive the binding offer — or the specific follow-up question telling you which detail is still missing.
Are you reachable during the construction phase?
Yes — being reachable during construction is part of the design for us: questions from the site, detail clarifications, and where the authority requires investigations we coordinate them on request. Scope and conditions of the construction-phase support are stated in the offer up front. And if execution deviates from the plan, we analyse the situation and recalculate so the effects are visible before building continues. How quickly depends on the scope of the deviation — we tell you the expected turnaround as soon as you report it.
