For landscaping firms & landscape architects · Lower Rhine & NRW

Your client wants the pond from you. The authority wants an engineer. We're yours.

You build — ponds, natural pools, outdoor facilities. We deliver the sizing, the FLL-compliant sealing concept and the permit documents, signed by a registered engineer under professional responsibility. You keep the client relationship and the construction contract, in every case.

Natural pond at a converted farmstead — landscaping project with engineering-grade planning

The contract is signed. Then someone asks for the calculation.

Whether swimming pond, natural pool or constructed wetland: at some point somebody demands an auditable design — the water authority, the building office, or the client themselves. Craft experience does not replace the sizing calculation, and the alternatives are all unsatisfying:

  • Building from experience means: it often works — but when the authority asks questions or a warranty issue comes up, there is no calculation you can point to.

  • Turning the job down means: the client takes the whole project to whoever brings the engineer along.

  • Bringing in a large firm means: your project gets low priority there — and near-natural systems are generalist territory for them, not a core competence.

There is a fourth way.

You build. We calculate and sign responsibly.

Model A

Silent specialist in the background

We deliver sizing, plans and permit documents — you run the project and the client relationship. We answer the authority's questions in the background and supply you with the wording. The design always carries the signature and stamp of the responsible engineer.

Model B

Visible specialist on your team

We appear to the client and the authority as the water design specialist: registered with the Chamber of Engineers NRW, communicating directly with the water authority — you remain the firm that builds and holds the client. A registered specialist on the team is a selling point, not a flaw.

In both models: the design is an insured engineering service — responsibility for the sizing lies with us, not with your firm.

Four things you can hand over.

The result: permit and execution fit together — and nothing gets lost between plan and build.

Swimming pond & natural pool design to FLL

Hydraulics, regeneration zones, layer build-up and an FLL-compliant sealing concept (FLL 2017) — as an auditable design dossier with a declaration of conformity.

Constructed wetlands to DWA-A 262

Substrate dimensioning, hydraulic load calculation, planting plan with species list — ready to submit, for example for plots without a sewer connection.

Permit documents & authority communication

Whether your project needs a water-law permit is something we clarify up front for the specific case — and we deliver the documents, signed under professional responsibility. On request we handle the communication with the authority.

Infiltration & rainwater in the outdoor facility

Swales, infiltration trenches, infiltration verification to DWA-A 138-1 — if the project needs it, from one source.

Per project, with a fixed price up front.

Design dossier for near-natural systems

  • Complete design dossier (30–60 pages)
  • FLL-compliant sealing concept (for natural pools)
  • Planting plan, maintenance and monitoring concept
  • Construction specifications for your team

Fixed price

from €1,200

Further services, per project

  • Infiltration verification (concept)from €700
  • Plausibility check of an existing verification€600
  • Construction-phase support & permit procedureby agreement

Binding fixed-price offer within 24 hours (business days) — or the specific follow-up question telling you which detail is still missing. The design costs a few percent of the project budget — and makes sure permit and execution fit together.

Prices plus statutory VAT. Services rendered in Germany (NRW).

The fixed price applies to the scope defined in the offer. If your concept changes or investigations reveal new requirements, you receive an updated fixed-price offer before we continue.

Test us on a real project.

You don't have to entrust us with the whole project right away. Send us a design you are unsure about: we check an existing infiltration verification for €600 against DWA-A 138-1 and the water authority's review practice — with a written review memo from a registered engineer. For pond and treatment-wetland designs we quote the review fixed price within 24 hours (business days). You see how we work on a real case.

How an engagement runs.

1

Describe the project

Plot data, a sketch or draft, what your client wants. If something is missing, we tell you within 24 hours (business days).

2

Fixed price within 24 hours (business days)

Scope, deliverables, processing time from complete documents, one number for your calculation — or the specific follow-up question telling you which detail is still missing.

3

Design — and reachable during construction

Auditable design dossier with declaration of conformity, signed under professional responsibility. During execution we stay reachable, so nothing gets lost between plan and build.

What landscaping firms ask us.

Does a swimming pond or natural pool need a permit at all?

That depends on the individual case — size, location, water balance and the practice of the local authority all play together. Blanket answers are not serious here. We clarify the permit question for your specific project up front — before you calculate your price.

Will my client find out that the design comes from outside?

That is your decision. In the background model you run the project and the client communication; the design itself names the responsible engineer — professional law requires that. Many firms deliberately introduce us visibly: a registered specialist on the team is a selling point towards client and authority.

Who carries the responsibility for the sizing?

We do. The design is an insured engineering service — signed by Alvaro Burgos Cifuentes, M.Sc., registered member of the Chamber of Engineers NRW (No. 754661), with professional liability insurance for the planning services. The execution remains your trade — the sizing behind it is ours.

What does the design cost?

Design dossiers for swimming ponds, natural pools and constructed wetlands from €1,200, infiltration verifications from €700, the plausibility check of an existing verification €600 — each plus statutory VAT, as a fixed price. Within 24 hours (business days) you receive the binding offer — or the specific follow-up question telling you which detail is still missing.

Are you reachable during the construction phase?

Yes — being reachable during construction is part of the design for us: questions from the site, detail clarifications, and where the authority requires investigations we coordinate them on request. Scope and conditions of the construction-phase support are stated in the offer up front.
